Spring Art Camp - Grades 2+

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
An after-school program where students will explore the Fine Arts while building their own Fine Art Portfolio. Each day we will explore a new Medium of Fine Art and explore various techniques through guided Fine Art Projects. We will also learn about the Elements of Art which will help students to create more creative and advanced artwork. The program will consist of five 2-hour learning/creating sessions, then will conclude with a final art exhibit. Students will finish the program with a Fine Art Portfolio showing their talents in various mediums and styles.

DAY ONE- MAY 31
Students will learn about the Elements of Art; Shape, Line, Value, Colour, Space, Form, and Texture. They will learn about how the Elements of Art are building blocks of all Fine Art pieces.

DAY TWO- JUNE 1
An introduction to Acrylic Art . Students will experiment with how to mix paints, use different brush strokes, and more techniques for painting with Acrylic Paint.

DAY THREE- JUNE 2
Students will discover; what is Tactile Art? They will experiment with creating art they can feel and touch.

DAY FOUR-JUNE 3
Students will be drawing and creating their own still-life pieces. They will learn about techniques for creating Water Colour paintings. They will also learn how to draw the shapes and forms; and how this can help us draw other things.

DAY FIVE- JUNE 4
Students will explore mixed media art through experimentation with the collaging and oil pastels. They will learn techniques for creative collaging and working with oil pastels.

ART SHOW
This will be an opportunity for students to show off their creations and talents. Details to be announced.
