Improv Theatre Workshop (Ages 12-15) "Improv & Storytelling"

The Unnatural Disaster Theatre Company is excited to be collaborating with Encore Community Arts Association to provide a 4 days of professional improv workshops for students of all ages.
Improv & Storytelling for ages 12-15:
Looking to develop an interest in theatre or give it a try for the first time? Have a story to tell and you’re not sure how to make your voice heard? Improv & Storytelling is a workshop with a focus on creative communication through story designed for ages 12-15. With an introduction to some theatre basics and the chance to collaborate- this is the perfect opportunity to find confidence and discover new ways to create through the magic of improvisation. These four sessions will serve as a perfect jumping off point for emerging artists to take their passion and imagination to the next level.
As emerging theatre creators, we recognize that community outreach and sharing our knowledge of performing arts with emerging artists of all ages is an important responsibility that comes with our privilege of being professional artists. Without the teachers, professors, and guest artists who shaped our love of theatre and skill in the craft, we would not be where we are today. We hope to use the lessons and techniques that we have been fortunate enough to learn to share with others and increase the appreciation and understanding of the arts of theatre in our communities and beyond. We believe that not only is improvisation a crucial skill to any theatre artist- but we have seen firsthand the value that improv skills can bring to people’s day-to-day lives. Theatre skills are life skills!
